Owned and operated since 2002 by Jennifer Thoreson, the Purple Pincushion specializes in alterations of bridal and formal wear. Custom sewing projects are considered on an individual basis.
Whether you are a new or returning customer I hope I can fill all of your sewing and alteration needs. I specialize in bridal alterations, maternity bridal alterations, and “crisis” alterations.
I began sewing at 9 years of age. My mom was my first teacher and I give her the credit for kindling the love of sewing in my heart. Years of of dedicated sewing for 4-H competitions gave me the confidence to tackle my first wedding dress at age 18. I was a young bride with no money so I made my own dress. I went on to study costume design for the theater. The rest is history.
