The question everyone wants answered.......how much will my alterations cost? How I wish there was a simple answer to that! I will give it my best shot.
I guess the best place to start is with my minimum charges.
Wedding Gown: $75.00
Bridesmaid: $35.00
This minimum charge covers the time I spend not just on the actual alterations, but all of the time I spend fitting (which is a minimum of two appointments) and steaming of your gown among other things.
Now most dresses need more work than what the minimum charge would cover. Currently, I would say that the average charges would be as follows:
Wedding Gown: $150.00
Bridesmaid: $60.00
Please remember that every dress is different. I cannot give you any better estimate over the phone than what I have just given you, so please don't call and tell me that you need a hem a just a little tuck here or there. Without seeing the dress and how it is constructed I can not and will not give you an exact quote. You are more than welcome to bring you dress in just for a quote. I have no problem with that and there is no charge to just get a quote.
Custom sewing is a whole different animal. The best thing to do if you are considering having something custom made is to make an appointment and come in discuss your ideas with me in person. Please do not expect the have a dress custom made for cheaper than what you can buy it in the store. You are asking for a one of a kind creation made specifically to your body. Also be aware that I need at least 4-6 months advance notice for custom projects.
